Arnold Snyder: A Blackjack Pro

Arnold Snyder is a well-known author, professional gambler, and gambling advocate who specializes in the fields of Blackjack and Poker. Now a member of the Blackjack Hall of Fame, Snyder got his start in the world of professional gambling with his first book, The Blackjack Formula. Since then, he has gone on to publish several Poker and Blackjack histories and how-to guides, and has also created an online trade journal.

The Blackjack Formula By Arnold Snyder

Arnold Snyder's first Blackjack innovation was presented in his 1980 book, The Blackjack Formula. This book described a previously unheard of concept called "deck penetration", otherwise known as "the depth of the deal." What Snyder suggested was that one of the most important factors to consider when counting cards was the number of cards that had already been dealt. Snyder proposed that the count was most accurate when more cards had been distributed.

After the success of his first book, Arnold Snyder went on to publish many Blackjack and Poker guides. The next was Blackbelt in Blackjack, a strategy guide for first time Blackjack players as well as more experienced gamblers. In 2003, Snyder published The Shuffle Trackers Cookbook, a guide to shuffle-tracking - a card counting strategy for high level blackjack players. Although shuffle tracking has become quite well-known, it's not as widely used as some of the simpler card counting techniques.

The latest Blackjack book written by Snyder was the Big Book of Blackjack, a comprehensive guide to the game.

Snyder Provides Online Blackjack Info

In 1981, shortly after writing his first book, Snyder started the Blackjack Forum. This quarterly trade journal provided advice and tips for professional Blackjack players. Since then, the Blackjack Forum has moved onto the web, where it now acts as a information-filled free resource for Blackjack players all over the world.

The Blackjack Hall of Fame

In 2002, Arnold Snyder was nominated for membership in the Blackjack Hall of Fame. As a well known Blackjack expert and innovator, he took his place in the Hall of Fame along with Blackjack greats like Al Francesco and Edward O. Thorp (sometimes called the father of card-counting.) Since his success at the game of Blackjack, Snyder has also branched out into the world of Poker, writing books and boosting his reputation as a skilled gambler
